The Indian government has taken several measures to ensure disaster preparedness in the country. These include:

• The establishment of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to coordinate disaster management efforts at the national level
• The development of the National Disaster Management Plan (NDMP) to provide a framework for disaster management at all levels of government
• The creation of the State Disaster Management Authorities (SDMAs) to coordinate disaster management efforts at the state level
• The establishment of District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to coordinate disaster management efforts at the district level
• The implementation of early warning systems for different types of disasters, including floods, cyclones, and earthquakes
• The establishment of emergency response teams at different levels to respond quickly to disasters
• The capacity building of communities to better prepare for disasters and to respond more effectively in the aftermath of a disaster
• The implementation of various laws and regulations related to disaster management, including the Disaster Management Act (2005) and the National Policy on Disaster Management (2009)
These measures have helped to improve the preparedness and response to disasters in the country. However, there is still a need for further improvement, particularly in the areas of early warning and community preparedness.
