BIMSTEC is a regional organization comprising seven countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia. In 2018, BIMSTEC adopted the Bangkok Vision 2030, a strategic roadmap for the organization's future development. The adoption of Bangkok Vision 2030 has several significant implications:
