The Indian Civil Service (ICS) is now referred to as the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The role of a Civil Service Officer in India is to maintain law and order, promote and oversee government policies, and implement various programs and plans. Some of the major responsibilities of a Civil Service Officer in India are as follows:
