What are the challenges faced by MGNREGA due to the adoption of technology

Explain the adverse effects of technology adoption on the original objectives of MGNREGA, as pointed out by Congress leader Jairam Ramesh.
The implementation of technology in MGNREGA has led to many challenges, as stated by Jairam Ramesh: 1. Lack of transparency: The use of technology has made the process of registering, applying for work and receiving payment more complicated, leading to a lack of transparency in the implementation of MGNREGA. 2. Increased corruption: The use of technology has also increased the risk of corruption as there are more intermediaries involved in the system, leading to a middleman who may take advantage of the system. 3. High cost of implementation: The costs associated with the implementation of technology in the MGNREGA scheme are also high, leading to a reduction in the resources available to undertake public works and pay wages to workers. 4. Neglect of social objectives: The use of technology has led to a neglect of the social objectives of MGNREGA, such as empowerment of the rural poor and bringing about livelihood security. 5. Exclusion of manual labourers: The use of technology in the scheme has also led to the exclusion of manual labourers who may not be able to access technology, which defeats the purpose of the MGNREGA scheme. Thus, while technology as a tool can be employed to strengthen the implementation of MGNREGA, it should be done in a manner that doesn't override the original objectives of the scheme.
