What steps should government take to provide relief to victims of floods in Assam

Over 120 people have been rescued by NDRF as Assam faces one of its worst floods in years.
The government can take the following steps to provide relief to the victims of floods in Assam: 1. Immediate evacuation of the affected people and providing them with temporary shelters like relief camps. 2. Providing food, clean water, and medical care to the affected population in relief camps. 3. Providing financial assistance to the affected people for rebuilding their homes, which have been damaged or destroyed due to floods. 4. Compensation to the families of those who have lost their lives or have been injured due to floods. 5. Deployment of rescue teams, including the NDRF, to assist in rescue operations. 6. Providing necessary infrastructure such as boats, life jackets, and rescue equipment to rescue teams. 7. Regular monitoring of water levels and rainfall in all the flood-affected areas. 8. Preparation of flood maps and taking necessary measures to prevent flooding. 9. Awareness campaigns for the general public on how to respond during floods. 10. Encouraging and promoting decentralized and community-led initiatives to tackle floods and disaster management.
