What steps have been taken to address the malaria outbreak in Tripura, India

- Mass distribution of Long-Lasting Insecticide Nets (LLINs) to prevent mosquito bites at night, which are causing malaria transmission.
- Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) is carried out in endemic areas to kill mosquitoes. This approach has resulted in a considerable decline in malaria transmission.
- Fogging and Larvicide application to kill adult mosquitoes and destroy their breeding grounds have been intensified
- Diagnostic services are provided free of charge to infected patients. Those infected are given treatment consisting of antimalarial drugs such as chloroquine, primaquine, or artemisinin-based combination therapy.
- Campaigns are organised to educate the general public about the symptoms of the disease, its transmission, and the need to seek immediate medical support if symptoms are presented.
