LIC (Life Insurance Corporation of India) has recently announced some relaxations for its policyholders who were affected by Cyclone Biparjoy. Here are some of the measures provided by LIC to help its policyholders:

• LIC has extended the grace period for premium payment up to 60 days for the policies, that were due for payment on or after 13th November and till 9th December 2019, for the policyholders in the affected areas.
• LIC is providing a special concession with respect to health insurance policies held with the corporation on hospitalization of policyholders due to the cyclone, in the form of an additional 5% of the eligible claim amount.
• In addition to these, LIC has also waived off some of the documentary requirements for death claims in direct cases due to cyclone.
• LIC has also offered to send SMS reminders to its policyholders regarding premium payment due dates, to avoid any lapse or discontinuance of policies.

These measures are expected to ease the burden on the policyholders, who are trying to rebuild their lives and homes after the cyclone.
