What are the properties attached by NIA in the terror funding case of Kashmiri businessman Watali

Hint: NIA attaches Kashmiri businessman Watali's properties in terror funding case.
Following are the properties that were attached by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the terror funding case of Kashmiri businessman Watali:
  • Immoveable properties located in prime areas of Srinagar, Jammu and Gurgaon
  • Cash worth Rs 1.48 crore and foreign currency equivalent to Rs 14.5 lakh
  • The value of the attached assets are estimated to be around Rs 6.7 crore
  • All the properties were allegedly acquired with the proceeds of terror funding received from Pakistan-based handlers
  • Watali was arrested in 2017 and has been charged with criminal conspiracy to wage a war against the government of India
  • He was also accused of being in contact with officials of Pakistan's spy agency, ISI, and of funding separatist activities in the Kashmir valley
  • The NIA has claimed that Watali had used multiple shell companies to route the terror funding and had also received funds from foreign sources to fuel the unrest in Kashmir
The attachment of these properties is a significant step towards choking the sources of terror funding in the valley and send a strong message to those who collude with anti-national elements to destabilize the country.
