Yes, a State Act can definitely be challenged in the Supreme Court specially when it is believed to violate the Constitution of India.India is a federal country where both centre and state make laws,but all laws must follow the constitution


I think if any state law violate Fundamental Rights or goes beyond the powers given by the constitution the Supreme Court can cancel it .

According to article 13, laws which breaks Fundamental Rights are not valid and can be removed by the court.If both centre and state make laws on the same subject and they clash,then the central law will win especially if it has the President 's approval.
