• Technology has resulted in incomplete data leading to the exclusion of beneficiaries from the program.
• The use of biometrics has caused difficulty in enrollment, especially among the elderly.
• Online registration has resulted in low participation amongst people with low digital literacy.
• The National Rural Employment Guarantee Management Information System (NREGMIS) is ineffective due to technical glitches.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has criticized the government's reliance on technology, stating that it has only increased the gap between urban and rural areas. The government needs to recognize the importance of local-level data collection and rectify these issues to ensure the success of the MGNREGA program.
